In the summer of 2004 WUBA began as a loving collaboration between two American expats with a passion for their adopted city and serious ganas to share the love. Seven years later the love is still alive and growing stronger by the day. With 3,500 daily visits WUBA has become an important tool for visitors and locals alike eager to explore the emerging arts and culture scene of Buenos Aires.
2011 welcomes a new era at WUBA. First and foremost our site relaunch, a year in the making, with a fresh look and a few new features. Classics like AGENDA, NEWS and GOING OUT will remain in tact, but new gems are on the mark. TODO, a play on words (english "to do", spanish "everything") an enormous database filled with places to eat, drink, dance, shop, sleep and learn. And PROFILES, a mixture of the old MUSIC and PHOTOGRAPHY sections, where we ask our favorite artists to curate a gallery of work for us and tell us about it in their own words.
We´d like to invite all of those who´ve followed us through out the years to join us for a cocktail this Friday night at Magdalena´s Party, starting at 10pm on the corner of Costa Rica and Thames, with music from some of our favorite djs, El Remolon (ZZK Records) and Nicodemo (Mite Galeria), and free drinks (until the supply runs dry) from Jack Daniels, Campari and wine.
