Zizek Club Hits North America Again
Zizek Club Hits North America Again

Roughly a year after the creation the their record label, ZZK Records, their SXSW appearance and first international tour, the Zizek crew is back on the road again.  This time they play 12 shows in 16 nights, coast to coast in the USA & Canada with a 50 minute slot at Coachella as the cherry on top. Mexico too is on thier radar.

Zizek is a new club from Buenos Aires, Argentina dedicated to the emerging sounds of Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggaetón, Cumbia, Bastard Pop, Mashups, and more.  From the beginning, Zizek has been a club where genres clash and cross over, making you dance, while still providing fresh and innovative sounds rarely heard before. In April 2009 we will be heating up the North American Spring with some tropical goodness. Below are the artists we will be traveling with.

FAUNA

Fauna comes direct from the foothills of the Andes where Catar_sys and Color Kit brew their particular strain of digital cumbia, morphing the traditional rhythm into jungle-cumbia infused with dancehall, reggaeton, baile funk, IDM, and dubstep. Fauna live gets the crowd hyped with spitfire rhymes and a high energy stage show by the two MCs plus a DJ selector.

EL G

The rapid ascension of this new DJ at Zizek Club may have come as a surprise to some, but not to all. His mixing of Latin sounds with tech and step and hop and tón have recently left many a dancefloor hot and sweaty.

On the road El G (aka G-Love) spins all the Zizek producers who couldn’t be on tour this time around. El G is the DJ name of Grant C. Dull, Resident DJ and label manager of Zizek, ZZK Records and director of Whats Up Buenos Aires.

DOUSTER

Douster is a 23 year old producer from Lyon, France who has called Buenos Aires home for the better part of the last 2 years.  At the age of 14 Douster started making beats and hasn't stopped since.   Buenos Aires and Zizek Club proved to be highly fertile ground for Douster´s search for his own sound.  Combining his background in Electro, House, Bass, Dancehall, Hip Hop with his current time and place in the world has produced something completely new, fresh and highly ZZK.  Lazer Bass Cumbia Reggaetón?  Dance it to believe it.
