My first assignment for WUBA is to interview Gerardo Dubois. known to most by his nom de mode, Bandoleiro. I know little about fashion and even less about designers, my vague impression of the latter having been formed mostly by Maya Rudolph’s portrayal of Donatella Versace on Saturday Night Live. Understandably, I’m a bit nervous.

Waxploitation Artists and ZZK Records present the launch of their latest brainchild, Future Sounds of Buenos Aires.

The Gallery Mar Dulce specializes in small and medium format works indiscriminate of artistic disciplines. Colectiva15 is a selection of works by 15 of their regular artists. The show will remain open until the 23rd of June.

Today, when the leading men need nothing more than a pretty face and strong abdominals plastered on one billboard after another, we meet Rolando Bruno, a born seducer ripped out of the 1960s, who not only conquers women for his impeccable style but also for his great musical talent.

For our second edition of Extranjeros, we met up with Cleveland native Evy Duskey, who fell in love with the city, a boy and the charango all at once. We met up with Evy at the Lago de Regatas in Belgrano, where we talked about her opening up to a fusion of two musical worlds.

On the corner of Avenida Directorio and Murguiondo a mural announces, “Republica de Mataderos – Bienvenidos.” Republic of Mataderos – Welcome.  This mural, for those entering the neighborhood from the east, beyond which lies the vast majority of Capital Federal, indicates to visitors that they are entering a place with an overwhelming sense of local pride, and that may, in fact, host some of the most vivid manifestations of historic and contemporary Argentine identity in the city.

Motivated by the sight of tanned surfers, a Joe Dante conference and the fresh ocean air, Fabi Feyt ventured south last month to catch the 26th edition of the Mar del Plata Film Festival. We asked her to keep a journal of her four day vacation, this is what she had to share.
