Two of BA´s most emerging and exciting artists are showing their work at one of the cities most prestigious galleries. Flavia Da Rin and Leopoldo Estol´s work can currently be seen at Galeria Ruth Benzacar.

For some time now, both of these artists have been making waves both locally and internationally, and this show marks their arrival into the mainstream BA art elite. The gallery has a long history of hosting some of the city’s most prominent and leading artists.

On this occasion, Flavia Da Rin´s show, entitled El misterio del niño muerto (The mystery of the dead boy) is a new series of digitally enhanced photographs inspired by the tragedy of Oskar Matzerath, a boy who wouldn’t grow up, from the movie by Volker Schlöndorf based on the novel by Gunter Grass. Her work is both real and surreal, offering an intimate vision into her emotional self.

Leopoldo Estol´s La mañana del mundo (The world´s morning) delivers what Estol has become a darling in the scene for, his off the wall, color and pop vision driven installations of everything and nothing. One gets the feeling that Leopoldo embraces the modern clusterfuck of consumption and information that the contemporary world delivers and gives it his own existential comedic twist. In a recent interview he described his art as a fine line between science and entertainment. This most recent installation will leave you with more questions than answers.

Leopoldo
uploaded a video for his current installation; it’s a brief glimpse into his world (The world´s morning) and a short behind the scenes look at him working on the early stages of the exhibition. The byline: un lugar un momento el espacio saluda al tiempo asi: hola y chau, could be a look into what his vision of art is. A place, a moment, space greets time like this: hello and good-bye.

Step into the world of both these talented artists until May 3rd. Ruth Benzacar is located at Florida 1000, downtown.
